Im a christian(not a perfect one but I try) and I play D&D on Saturdays with my friends. Im sick of people telling me that im in sin and angering God by playing the game. Nowere in the bible does it say you cannot have an imagination. Sorry to have to tell you this but saying I wanna throw a fire ball and rolling a dice is not evil. We dont light candles and chant for satan or any of that dumb stuff, its just a game. TV,MOVIES,and the MEDIA have a heck of a lot more violence than D&D. Also stop throwing Wicca into the game, its not there. To those that really get into the game and start thinking its real I have to say, get a life, your not an elf or dwarf or whatever. Funny its not all christians telling me this though its types of people. Does any one agree with me?

I have heard the same thing... Playing D&D is evil.. satan worship or some weird things..

Mind you .. Im also a Witch / Pagan..
I get told im prasing and worshiping satan pretty much when i come across a fundemetalist Christian.

Just remember You have Fundemetalist Christians and Christians.
They dont all think the same.. Neither do alot of other people on the world.
Just a few fanatics.

Enjoy your game.. Its great imagination.
Nothing wrong with using it. your doing no harm..

LOL! I havn't heard that one for years! People still think that?

Totally got to back you up here on that people go way overboard on things like that. There are plenty of non-christian and atheist practises for these people if they want to have someone to look down on in their feebleminds (wink) But, there are plenty of things completely un-related to religious practices and beliefs. Such things include D&D, it's a game, it's like acting. Do you hate actors for portraying say...ANYONE? Because they may at some point in their careers be asked to play a guy in a pointy hat? Or even if they should does this make them sinful and unclean? These are the people that are upset with Harry Potter.

In your belief God gave people free will. So stop trying to take it away from people, trust them to do some things without tumbling into Hell.

How many hours do you spend playing the game, if it takes up a lot of time, its taking your eyes off of God. i wouldn't say it is a sin, just that you are absessed with D'n'D and have lost your first love God. God says to love him first. If this game takes up most of your time, then it is just as bad as a drug addiction. It is filling the hole that Gid is suppose to fill.

I started playing in high school and my mom freaked. It was in the 80's, right after those freaks in Virginia killed a kid and she decided I was going to get hurt. My answer was " Look, Dad plays poker and more people have been killed in poker games than ever even got angry in D&D." What freaked her was when the gamemaster was refered to as "God" . I finally got her to understand it just meant "The one who contoles everything"...not someone we worship. Dude, I am 41 and she still thinks it is not quite right. You are right, so don't worry, just keep trying to explain.

There is nothing at all wrong with being christian & playing D&D.
There is nothing sinful about it & it does not say anywhere in the bible that you are commiting a sin.
Keep on playing & ignore the stupid idiots that think this.

I hate how they say that about Harry Potter too. For once there's a book that causes children to stand in lines and they have problems with better literacy and better imaginations. It's horrible.
