Every time l come here l click the British flag and assume its British Q&A, l note that many answers are err .. not quite British? Does the British flag encompass everyone in the world that can speak english or are some interlopers from foreign lands sneaking in just to confuse me? ;-)

Americans by default see 'All English' questions on their homepage rather than just 'American Questions'...so if you ask a question on UK & Ireland Yahooo...they will answer...even if it's a UK specific question (i.e. a question that requires local UK knowledge).

That's a fault of the Yahoo site design.

I'm English (& British...).

Most English-speaking countries share this page, be they British, American, Australian, etc... By clicking the British flag you just mean you want to answer questions in English, but it doesn't mean they'll come from Great Britain. The same happens at Yahoo Spain: Latin American people get there too...

By the way: I'm French... and I don't eat frogs ;)

There are loads of different cultures & ethnic groups living in Britain. Some may also be foreign exchange students, who have found this site while visiting, so while every flag represents every country, you will find the British flag is really quite a multicultural one!!!

I'm British! I'm English too! oh, and a citizen of the European Union!
Mind you, many citizens of the United Kingdom will thank you for being referred to as British as it forms a link with all four countries of the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland). A Scotsman will often prefer to be known as Scottish, an Englishman as English, etc.
