you can burn 150 or more songs in a CD. First make the songs,if in track mode, into mp3 mode. Then you have to install Nero burning software. After installing select the mp3 mode songs and finish adding to the list. Then just click burn and you are asked to insert an empy cd into the cdrom. during this process you can observe the status of the space with blue color. Generally the CD welcomes 650 mb of space allowing 200-250 songs. Enjoy the mp3 mode of music.

Convert the songs to mp3 with bit rate of 192 if you want to do it in CBR(constant bit rate)
Choose 226kbps if you prefer VBR (variable bit rate)
The latter gives smaller file sizes but with better quality. But all players may not handle VBR.

If your player supports wma format try encoding to wma.
The quality loss is less.
Try wma Lossless just for kicks. It is superb. But not for putting 150 songs on a single cd.
If your source files are from audio cd, to retain the audio quality try Audio DVD, its really good.
You can try it for free for a limited period of time using the Goland Audio Dvd Creator.

Use the proper software to convert them into mp3 (if they are in another format). You could burn abaout 200-250 songs on one 750MB CD.
