What about using foods & pieces of non recyclable goods? My Friends did a similar project & used pieces of non recylclable goods such as polystyrene foam & used liquidised foods mixed with flour to colour it. It looked totally amazing & she got full marks for it. You could also use stuff like bubble wrap & other textured materials & spray paints to make a textured picture.

Don't know if this would work, but what about a self-portrait in a realistic or stylised form. To contours of your face you could affix reflective materials that your might see during an ordinary day, plate glass from shop windows, glass beads, pieces of a broken shaving mirror, etc. When put on the gallery wall, it would become a self-portrait that is also a reflection of the world as it you might see it on an average day, and it would also become a reflection of what passes your likeness. SO, it would evoke the "Inhere" of your own individuality, but by its very nature, it would also reflect the "Outthere".

How about lace to use as stencils? The inside of a cardboard box, that corregated stuff, makes a really neat texture either to apply or use as a stamp of some sort. Some corals also make good stencils, but be sure it's ok to use them before you do-the paint doesn't always come off (they are very porus).

How about using 'found objects' (like the Dadaists) on the street? You could make a comment about consumerism or the amount of waste we produce?

Out there? Well, animal bones, insects, toe and finger nail clippings (don't ask how to get them), different color and textures socks, discarded coffee ground filters.

You asked for out there.

Good luck
