It is a hit ball that drops just in front of the outfielder and behind the infielder trying to catch it. It is not a solid hit and is just "blooped" over the head of the infielder and just in front of the outfielder. Thus, it is called a "blooper."

It is a softly hit ball that is hit into the shallow outfield, usually just over the outstretched glove of an infielder or just in front of a charging outfielder.

A ball that is softly hit, just out of the infield, but so shallow that the outfielders can't get to it. It just falls between everyone.
