as children of a family which child you are? I means what u are? a first child or second child or third child

This is really two questions. After you ask if they have brothers or sisters, or how many children are in their family, you ask something like, "Are you the oldest?" or if there are more than two, "What number are you?"

The child could be "the only child", the first born, the elder, the eldest (of 3 or more), the younger child, the youngest (of 3 or more). The comparison "older, oldest is also good for people.
The middle child... I have heard that before,too.

Are you the oldest/ youngest... or do you have brothers and sisters...or if you are talking about the instance where there is more than one father/mother you could ask if they have a step parent.
