I run and operate a medium sized clothing store and I am going to start running my business online. I've been a PC user since 95, I am not too sure what kind of laptop to purchase.. I've heard excellent things about Sony Vaio and the new Mac Book (my budget is to spend no more than 2,000$) I love the mac books however I am not familiar with using Mac. I am self taught, a quick learner and I've heard macs are very user friendly. I've also heard with a mac you are protected against internet hackers but I don't know if that's true. I have been to Best Buy and Comp Usa and got the run around. Please help! I want something that can pick up wireless internet connection easily, runs fast and has a lot of memory for graphics. Also easy to operate! Thanks so much and Happy Holidays!

i bought a dell and am very happy with my decision. I've had minimal problems with mine. I'm also a computer security freak and have researched all of the anti spyware, anti virus etc programs and don't have any problems (knock on wood). I intend to keep my laptop for a long time, until I can get a super kick but desktop. Which will lprobably also be a Dell!

You can use bootcamp to run Windows XP on your Intel based macbook pro or mac book. You can also use Parrallels to run both operating systems. I am a PC user but I have to use a Mac as well. I find that MS office on Mac's don't translate all documents sent from PC MS office users. When I prepare my documents in PC, I often have to take two or three more steps to make it compatible for Mac users. MS did it on purpose so that PC's would be the dominant office machines.

One thing to keep in mind with running XP on a mac using bootcamp (supplied by Mac) is that some external devices don't work at all i.e. pocket pc phones don't sync etc.

Right now I'm going to wait, since MS's new operating system Vista is coming out.

I myself am a pc user and have read reviews. I bought a Dell inspiron 9400 and now I regret my choice. I should have bought the mac as its really great! The styling, ease of use and great programs really make mac a top quality product. Wireless is not a problem, and you can get everything built in.
Oh and the best part about it is, if you feel like using windows or pc programs, you can use windows too!!!
I wish I bought the mac =(
