My new immediate boss is a pain in the *** !!! He has his stupid philisophy and expects everyone to think like him. Worse problem, is that my GM, who is his Boss, has a different philisophy. So who do i listen to ? What can I do ? I am at lost>>> either way, I get shot.. should I tell the GM that becos of this guy' s way of doing things, it has caused us alot of problems....and even losses in revenue...How do u think he will react when he knows that I have gone to the GM to complain? I have to do something otherwise the GM will think that all the screw ups that happen is my fault... the truth it is. its was my new boss idea. He will just keep quiet and let me take the rap.... pls someone, give me some good advise... its driving me nuts...

Request for a meeting between the GM,your Boss and you and as politely as you can possibly muster explain your constraints and fears to them. It would help if you could assemble documentary evidence in support of your claims. Do not point fingers let the GM make his own deduction.

I don't think there is any good alternative to your problem. If you tell your GM the truth, your immediate boss will get to know immediately and he may try to find problem with you. So whta you really have to do is just to bear with it and start looking for a new job at the same time. When you find a better working environment, you can considered leaving the organisation

Don't march up to your GM to complain. You'll never know if the GM and your direct boss are allies even though they don't share similar philosophies. Let the 'universe unfold' on its own.

If your direct boss asks you to do something that is a potential screw up case, do a double workload to cover your own as*s: Version 1 to please your direct boss and Version 2 to please your GM. If the GM jumps on you when Version 1 screws up, tell him not to worry because you've long thought of the possibilities of Version 1 screwing up. Quickly submit Version 2 to appease him.

That way, you won't end up offending your direct boss and strike a positive impression with your GM at the same time.
