I had a trial version of Noton antivirus 2006.I then got Norton antivirus 2005(1 year subscription).(I then removed the old Norton antivirus)When I open the main page of the new antivirus, the renewal date comes as 3/3/2007. But when try to update my virus definition it shows that my subscription has ended on 17/11/2006 (my trial version's subscription had ended on this date). How can I solve this problem and update my Antivirus.

THIS IS URGENT .MY COMPUTER HAS ALREADY BEEN AFFECTED BY SOME VIRUS AND THE NON-UPDATED ANTIVIRUS IS NOT ABLE TO FIND THE VIRUS.

It better that u use ur previous version i.e.2005 (if ur having full version) i'm too using the same, and gets updated easily. The thing is that all the contents of NAV 2006 come in this, only name doesn't change........

Hmmm.....Tricky issue
Well lemme first tell u i am working for symantec.
Working on Norton antivirus and Norton Internet Security

The problem which u told me mean that there is some other Norton Program in ur Add/Remove programs
If not then Please check ur system date.

If none of this is working u may have to remove everything and re-install it

For that run the Norton Removal Tool from
www.symantec.com/nrt
Its will prompt u to run the tool hit run and just hit next on eery other window
Once this is done it will restart the computer
And then u may try re-installing the product again
This will work out for sure.

But make sure u have tried the first steps before running the Norton Removal Tool, its the last option

And as far as the virus is concerned go to
security.symantec.com to scan for viruses for free.

In case of any further Q's do ask me.
Regards

seems you may still have the trial one installed,
you will need to remove it and keep the full version you have.
that could be the reson its having that problem
may have to reinstall the full version
