The pinkish/redish jewel "Spinel", do i need it? Whats its purpose? Also, Red & /Yellow Herbs? Do i need, whats the purpose?

Collect the spinels so that you can sell them to the merchant--he'll give you about 2,000 PTAs for them. It's not a lot, but if you can find alot of them, it will add up in the long run. The spinels will eventually be replaced by something called a "Velvet Blue"--it looks like a small geode crystal. You sell these to the Merchant too--for about 2500 PTAs.
The Red and Yellow Herbs, by themselves, are useless. However, when combined with a Green Herb, they are quite handy. The Red Herb, when mixed with a Green Herb, will completely restore your health. A Yellow Herb mixed with a Green Herb will restore some of your health plus increase your max health. Combine all three (Green, Yellow, Red) to completely restore your health and raise your max health. Also note that in almost every boss fight, you should find at least one of each herb in the immediate area during the fight.

You don't really need the spinel. The only thing you can do with it is to sell it for about 2000psetas I think.
The yellow herb is for increasing your max health but you can't use it without combining it with a green herb. The same goes for the red herb although its purpose is to improve the green herb's healing powers. You can combine all three of them to heal your health completely while also increasing your max health.
