Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. And for me is the most wonderful time of the year! And the bible does say, " It is better to give, then to receive." So God bless you for giving with a joyful heart! May the birth of the Holy Child renew your faith and hope now and throughout the year!

I understand where you are coming from but i feel that Christmas has become too commercialized.
I am not religious in any way but still value the time with my family.
Someone once told me that Christmas was a great time but could be ruined if religion was brought into it.
Religion is important to a lot of people and i feel that this is their celebration and not the retailers.
Have a good Christmas.

This holiday still amazes me. Don't people realize that the "holiday" of Christmas was invented? It's based on several other winter festivals, has nothing to do with "celebrating Christ", who was not born on this day, and is a waste of money... Bah-humbug...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas
Origin of the Christian holiday
The idea that December 25 is Jesus' date of birth was popularized by Sextus Julius Africanus in Chronographiai (AD 221), an early reference book for Christians.[14]

Its a nice thing. Sometimes its easier than others to find that spirit, and people have to make a little effort to create some Christmas atmosphere sometimes; but the whole thing about family and "peace on Earth" and the tradition of lighting homes and town commons is a nice thing. For people who believe in the religious aspect it has that much more to it as well.
Its a nice thing - and in a world that has so much crap that goes on in it its kind of nice for people to make the effort to brighten up Winter and think about families and peace.

Actually, although I do love this time of year, I find it troubling that come January, so many of the people who are "jolly" right now will go back to their Scroogish selves.
