for me personally...i like to watch movies or documentaries, dance, listen to music...
But the answer for everyone is that only you can make you happy when you are having the blues.

When I am feeling blue, I call a friend. I listen to what is going on with her, her life and it helps take my mind off of myself.
If the particular friend I am calling is a good listener, non-judgmental or someone who I can count on to be on my side (sympathetic, empathetic) then I may talk about what is making me feel blue.
The main thing is when I am blue, I really need to talk to someone and not be blue all alone.

I play my favorite music, take a walk to the beach, go sit down by the ocean, and really put things into perspective.
The other thing I do is call my Mom or a friend. I like to volunteer also. Going to mass helps me find peace.

Normally I have to "hit bottom" and just dig my way out myself, but sometimes a small unexpected pleasure will help. For example, a letter from my mother, or an e-mail or phone call from a friend I haven't heard from for awhile.
