yes!! Cyberspace cannot replace the smell of books [especially old books] and the positve and beautiful 'feeling' you experience when your'e surrounded by so many reading material. Neither can it replace of opening up that book and being absorbed in and by its pages. Can you curl up on your bed with a computer?
Libraries are so in...[and I love cyberspace and is midly addicted to it].

There's space for both of them in this [at least my] life!

Yes, they do, though not always for the traditional reasons. Some college libraries have coffee shops, group study rooms, and lounge areas to attract students. Many public libraries lend DVDs of popular movies, provide free access to computers, printers, and photocopiers, and also have community rooms where they have programs from performances by singers and musicians to defensive driving course to reduce auto insurance.

no. I love libraries. I used to live in a library. As a child you can bet I'll be there almost everyday. In fact all 5 years of my secondary school, I was a school library.

But sad to say, in malaysia, libraries are too far to be convinient, are too regulated because books are too expesive, limited variety for the same reason and just too hard to find information for serious research.

but if they carried more range of good fiction, I would love to go to a library but I won't drive too far for it.

so no. i think its been years since I last went to a library.

I'm going the library tomorrow. We can't only rely on computers and the internet as our only source & storage for information. What happens when there is no electricity or when the government or whomever finds a way to erase...what then...Then we will all return to our Thomas Guides instead of mapquest. Trees die for us to have paper. People who throw away books make me sick.

I hadn't gone to a library in years. I started to take my daughter and she enjoys the R.I.F. program (reading is fundamental) as well as the other activities they have for children. I don't think I would go on my own, much prefer Barnes and Noble with a comfy couch and a latte...

sure I'm sitting in the library right now.
I think that everyone who goes to university has to use the library since you always need some reference....
in my case I'm looking up a solution of the DIrac equation...
so wish me luck....

Despite internet became the most used medium but this will not affect books, and people at least a % of them will find it easier to deal with papers.
