Just keep flirting and keep getting closer and if the person responds back to the flirting and going out to the mall of somewhere fun than you should talk to the person and tell that person how you feel about them maybe that person has feelings for you too but they are maybe not showing it yet because you haven't said anything or to shy give it a shot good luck

That's the easy part, dealing with the idea of being rejected on the bases of destroying a perfect friendship by wanting more. If you enjoy this person, don't play the games, be straight up, open and honest. If that person can't be open and honest with you, maybe your better off just having fun. Is it worth losing a friend when expectations fall through
