My bf and I read the Napoleon history recently, it's a shame that he lost the last last battle in Waterloo... but tell me, what do you think would happen if Napoleon succesfully united the whole Europe (including GREAT BRITAIN!)? What would be the impact for modern world today? Would we have a better world now or worse? What would happen to France?

Buonaparte had eyes on parts of America, even whilst his armies were rampaging across Europe. He had a large army in the French West Indian possessions which he might have used to invade the fledging USA. However, this army was virtually wiped out by disease (yellow fever?). He was forced to rethink his plans and the US acquired the French possessions on the mainland by way of the Louisiana Purchase. And no, a world wide French Empire would not have a good thing, not only from the chauvinist view that I, as a Brit, would not have liked my country ruled by the French, but it would have been impossible to hold together in the long run. I would hazard a guess that had such an Empire come into being it would have put back the Industrial Revolution by at least 100 years. I doubt that we would be sitting here today answering questions across the world and we could very well still be travelling about on horse back. Although, on the positive side there would not have been the World Wars that tore the 20th century apart.

Assuming he could accomplish it, (which he never could of). He would eventually become a victim of his own demise given his now coined phrase, "Napoleon complex" and sense of inferiority.

A question I wonder about more is....how dif. the world would be today had Cleopatra and Marc Antony won the battle against mighty Rome.

It's likely the world would be very similar but with the White House in Paris.

It would be worse. One man cannot run a succesful empire. His fall proved that. It takes a village. Not a single person.

He conquered parts of three continents. As for what would happen, let me just say, "Algeria, Vietnam, Cambodia, Rwanda."
