I Was just gonna leave this ? alone but I will answer it
1st Im a plumber 20yrs plus so here you go
No It wont work.
But a few things
DONT REMOVE THE WC WC= Water closet=toilet
Get as much water out as you can with a cup
Get a big pot and boil the water and pour it into the WC Make sure you dont go to fast or it will come back out and burn you.
The hot water will melt it in a sence.
let the water stand there for 15 to 20 min then plung.
If it dont work repet this again.
If after 2 or 3 times this does not work
Go to home depot or lows and get a WC auger
15 Bucks its a hand snake thats made for WC's
It is 10times better then a plunger and will do more then a plunger.
It can get toys out of the WC and other things
So I hope this helps you. And better luck next time.
HINT- If you have this problem again and not to sound odd or anything but
if your going #2 and there is alot of #2 while your going the bathroom flush the WC with each dropping This sounds funny but this way you wont be flushing alot all at once
Goodluck

Easy peasy. Fill a bucket with water and set it by the toilet. Take the plunger and sock it tight into the bottom of the toilet bowl. Flush it and immediately start pushing up and down very vigorously, for about 5 or six strokes. End it with a sharp pull up. If the water goes down, dump the bucket of water down it to finish clearing it. If is doesn't, repeat the plungering.

In case you can't leave the house and/or don't want to go out and spend money on this fix. These plumbers may or may not agree, but if you drop 2 or 4 Alka-selters (1 or 2 doses) right down as close to the clog as possible, you will find that should flush after 15 minutes and it will be clean as well. Provided what you've said is true and nothing else is clogging.

Well I've been plumbing for over forty years and some of these answers blow my mind, and I thought I've been around.
Dish soap and hot water, now that's a new one on me. I'll have to remember that one.
Go to Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes and get some Liquid Plumber Commercial brand in the Grey container. Let it stand for awhile. Then plunger but be careful not to splash, there acid in the LP. If that don't work then there's something in there that you may not want to see. You'll have to use a snake and rooter it out. Remember if you plunger it too much you can blow your wax ring, then you'll have a job.
Oh! the wife says the dish soap and warm water is maybe for an enema, so maybe they're right, for constipation though, not plugged toilet.

You can give it a try but my experience with our restaurants where plenty of people really use the john is if will not lalways work. Boiling water has a good chance of breaking down the MMM but a good pump plunger will still be the best.
Then make it a habit to use drain cleaners( I don't know in the US-YOU USE dRAINO?)

I would suggest biological laundry powder mixed with some water and pour straight down the hole. Laundry borax works just as well.
I usually use the above method to clean out bath and sink drains.
