yes, colors closely resemble many of the emotions that we have...depending on the color, we have various types of emotions.

Colours can influence the mood of our mind and indirectly influnce our actions which are so important in shaping and moulding our life. This is even more complicated because the influence of colours on various individual minds is neither the same nor even similar. Therefore, the same colour may lead to comfort and peace for one person and strife and struggle for another. Because of such inconsistency, we do not realise or appreciate the influence of colours on our lives.

Colors absolutely do influence our moods......

They are especially true in dreams....

without colors, we cannot state our feelings.... in dreams they are needed..... very few dream in color......

Most offices began taking note of color coordination in the early 80s.... and the reason why, was to offset the emotions of the employees..... The color tones, then, were beige.....

You'll see alot of that.....

If I remember correctly, there were at a time, colors red and black in the offices.... some refugee colors from the 60s that caused people to experience negative attitudes that reflected on the customers........

So, yeah... colors have made a big impression on the minds of people.....

OH.... let me add this..... ((for dreams))

Red: anger, hostility, fierceness, hot, tempting....
Blue: feelings... the deeper the blue, the deeper the emotion....
green: advancement, growth, ideas in harmony
black: disassociation. loss, loss of knowledge or understanding
white: purity, hope, understanding, wisdom.

etc......

Yes. They can affect our moods. That's why you must be careful when choosing paint colours. Red can be very dramatic but maybe not the best idea for a bedroom (redrum redrum!) it may drive you crazy, literally. Red can be exciting but it can make you angry. Like waving the flag to a bull. Blues & greens are serene & calming. Yellow makes you hungry so is appropriate for kitchens (this is why a lot of restaurants will use it...that pesky giant M calling me!...) Black is supposed to alienate people (so I used to be told when I was a goth & everything in my wardrobe was black!) but it has the opposite effect on me. I love black I find it sexy & mysterious & intriguing & comforting & familiar. Silver is my favourite colour. My car & a lot of my furniture (chrome, stainless steel) very cool, very zen. I like grey too. I painted my living room grey. Beige is very safe, it doesn't demand anything of you. A lot of people have their entire homes beige. I'm happy to be in my own house now & have it decorated the way I like. When I lived with my mom she had my walls painted pink & it drove me batty! Some people like pink (supposed to be bright & cheery I suppose) but it just wasn't me. I'm more drawn to contemporary decorating, earth tones, cool tones, not frilly frou-frou.

Anyway, the short answer is yes they influence our moods. They are an effective marketing tool as well for this reason.

I'm an artist too so colour is very important to me. It brings a blank canvas to life. Magical...

Absolutely. Dark colors affect your mood to be more gloomy and depress sometimes dark colors are really needed to make things calm, chill, firm and grounded. If you only have dark colors for your home, you could get depress easily.
Vivid colors affect your life with their brightness eloquent shades, they could light up your life by giving you the effect of alive, dynamic and radiant. If you only have vivid colors in your house, you'll get sick of them cuz too much bright colors make you insane gradually cuz you don't have something firm and grounded.

Colors intensify and change our emotions. The blue of water calms us, as the red of fire makes us passionate.

Feeling blue?
They add depth to our otherwise grey world. That depth is expressed in our relationship to the world .
Get 'in the pink' and don't turn yellow on me.
