Shouldn't they instead reward users who have a high "best answer" ratio - you know, to the people who contribe the most?

Good question.

Partly because some people are able to game the system, and achieve a high level of best answers by point gaming.

Perhaps they will reward the people with the highest best answer ratio, but I have blown mine. I had been as high as forty percent, but was averaging in the low to middle twenties, and lost over 5 percent of my ratio by answering a lot of questions.

Even the ones that game the system may produce advertising revenue for Yahoo!. That is the trick, I just have to figure out what Yahoo! wants, and try to fulfill my end of the agreement as best as I can.

Yahoo, can take their free gift, and pound it up their a s s. How about a free gift for the person with the most deleted accounts? I've had 6 in the past two months. I think it may be a record.

l didn't know about that. What if they live in far-out countries? How will they get their free gifts?

As to your suggestion that the most number of best answers also be gifted, yes l agree....but wait....there are others who are cheating voting for their own answers using different accounts...
Y!A has to fix a lot in this site.

You will notice that the terms you must agree to state that the products will not be mailed to PO boxes, you must provide a physical address. Besides being an incentive, I suspect that this reward system is a method to collect user data on who we REALLY are.

Why I would think is because if it wasn't for the people that are on here 24/7 then the site wouldn't have made it. Many have come and gone. It's nice of them too. No I don't think the best answer thing. How about the people who have answered 1000's of questions.....The was they did it is the best way. The best answer things really doesn't matter..
