I've always wanted to get different coloured contact lenses and cycle them around throughout the day, to freak people out. I think coloured contacts cost heaps, though. Anyone know where you could get fairly cheap ones (in Australia, or by mail order)?

It sounds like a great idea ... just stay away from me, I'm freaked out enough already.
Don't get cheap contacts. They are bad for your eyes. They are manufactured to less stringent standards and so can damage your eye, cause infections, etc.
Maybe look at natural food dyes. Something without any chemicals that is made with a neutral and sterile base. That might be fun 'cause it will turn the sclera (white part of your eye) colors ...

While I like your idea of freaking people out, the problem is fake lenses look fake and more likely people will just repeatedly ask you why you keep changing your contact lenses. But I think you should still try to freak people out as much as possible ; p
