One is solid and small the sun is gas and vast huge enormous. The sun parented everything within the solar system. Everything obeys its gravitational pull. the moon is a little insignificant body satellite in a family of innumerable members. There are no similarities whatsoever except for one major thing. It is all star stuff.

The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. It has no formal English name other than "the Moon", although it is occasionally called Luna (Latin: moon), or Selene (Greek: moon), to distinguish it from the generic term "moon" (referring to any of the various natural satellites of other planets).

The Sun is the star of our solar system. The Earth and other matter (including other planets, asteroids, meteoroids, comets and dust) orbit the Sun, which by itself accounts for more than 99% of the solar system's mass. Energy from the Sun—in the form of insolation from sunlight—supports almost all life on Earth via photosynthesis, and drives the Earth's climate and weather.

the sun is the star and it gives the brightest light of all other stars; that's why you don't see them on day time; but the moon is a satellite, and the refection of other stars is what makes the moon appear to us; also that it is the nearest satellite to the earth
