There is only one "reason" (not purpose) for life: life exists in order to propogate the species and pass on genes. That's it. Life exists so that life can continue to exist.

As I said, that's a reason, not a purpose. There is no universal purpose -- no god, no heaven, no judgement day (there is no evidence of any kind for any of these things -- all the evidence we have, and it's considerable, points to biological death as the end for that entity, period). So if you feel you need to have a purpose, you're going to have to come up with your own. That's a good thing, actually, because it'll be YOUR purpose, not some "purpose" shoved down your throat by religion or dogma or your relatives or anything else.

My purpose is to learn as much as I possibly can in the short time I have to live, and to try to use that knowledge to make an impact on the lives of the other humans I'm sharing this planet with. I'm in the process of completing my biological reason for being here (I have 2 kids, still raising them), and my purpose also includes teaching them to live a life of reason and knowledge free from superstition, fear, and mind control.

So, what's your purpose going to be? ;-)

You're experiencing an existentialist crisis. Almost everybody has that sooner or later, "Uh, why am I doing what I am doing now? Isn't there something more to life than this?" That's the consequence of having a brain capable of asking questions like this, animals don't seem to have this problem, they're too busy staying alive. Life must be pretty good for you to have gotten to that point, worrying about what the heck is the point of whatever is it that you're doing. There is no one answer for everybody, it's up to each of us to make something out of the life we have. Enjoy.

Don't you see purpose in learning? -Fulfillment of curiosity, wonder, understanding...Purpose in pursuing a career? -Change the world, make a living for yourself... Purpose in marriage and children? -Love your wife and kids, raise them with your values...fast tracked? Uh...these things take literally a lifetime, and you're never done accomplishing any of them. Sounds like you need to see the forest over the trees.

To get the PURPOSE of life , you need to ask yourself why you are doing whatever you are doing . You should aim at succeeding in whatever you are doing and what you are to do, and your success should be the succes to your friends, familly, relatives and parents. To get the purpose of life, you must be having goals to fulfil. All these would be great if it is within the God's way.

Enjoy the moment. Cause you will never ever have the chance to live it again. Do whatever makes to happy. Do not stuck in boundries. Learning, career, getting married..... are only tools for pure happiness. Just enjoy it. God knows when we are gonna die.

Actually GOD has given the Humans every power. And man is here not only to make a living out of this beatuful life. But he has been given Human body to awaken his mind to the powers available. Actually, we Humans only use our conscious mind. But by practice one can learn to use his Sub-conscious mind, where in lie the actual secrets of success, placed by GOD Himself. But, we keep on searching for the answers in this outside world around us, which is not at all, at peace with itself.

Only you can really answer this question. You have to decide - we can't decide for you. However, if you want a cause I suggest you visit a children's cancer ward - then you may discover a purpose in life.

The true and only purpose in life is to serve Almighty God [3 in 1] with everything that is within us. For only then can we step into the real and God-ordained purpose and destiny for our lives. God made each of us for a specific purpose and has the blueprint in heaven. Unfortunately sin marred our relationship with him! But he has made a way by sending Jesus, His Only Son as a ransom in our place. Jesus died on our behalf and took our shame upon himself. He not only brought us eternal life and the grace to escape hell or eternal punsihment, but also the joy of living life to the fullest. He reconciles us with God and throuhg him we find our God-ordained destiny and step into it. It is not an easy road, but one worht living, in fact, the ONLY one worth living.
He gratns you the grace to overcome and to change that which you can and to accept that which you cannot change. He also grants the wisdom the now the difference. He open your mind and grants you insight and wisdom. He brings you into fellowship and a personal and intimate relationship with your Heavenly Father. God is not a far-off being, but a living God whio wants to be intimately involved in your life. I call Him Dad and discuss everything with Him. He is the Essence of my being, the Reason why I am.
That, my dear, is the true purpose of life. Call upon Him now in Jesus' Name and experience the difference for yourself! God bless
