Yes. it is only a matter of time. It's not just the asteroids threat but our sun will eventually die. if we are still around we will have to find another solar system. Space is a new frontier and we are still children but we will grow up and we will colonise other worlds.

Not soon, because of the enormous cost. As for collision with an asteroid, I would not be too worried -- it seems that the probability of this occurring is less than one instance in 4.5 billion years.

i wish we under no circumstances repeat our mistakes if different worlds are got here upon. the first element i'd advise to our authorities officials is that we study as a lot as a possibility about different cultures or civilizations, undertake that that is reliable and helpful, and do not put in the endangered species list the newly got here upon civilizations. We already did a lot harm to mom Earth, and we haven't any proper to colonize the different position when we've performed a lot to smash our living house. If we are to colonize a sparkling international (planet) we extra efficient make issues proper in the different case, the recent international must be left on my own for another species to populate.

I think that given the passage of time, space travel is well within the limits of human endeavor. The question is when it will happen though.
