To put the question in a more general perspective, does a socially approved relationship have a bearing on the quality of love?

No. I don't think so. There are a lot of people who are married and don't really love each other just as there are many men & women who are deeply in love that may not be married (yet). I suppose however, ideally that if people took marriage seriously, the married people should love the most since they have made the commitment. They have chosen to be together forever. Unfortunately not a lot of people see it this way. More than half of marriages end in divorce. I think a lot of people get married to the wrong person or for the wrong reasons.

When you find your soulmate, you just know. If you get married, it's not for social approval it's because you adore each other & want to express that through a sacrement that symbolizes your eternal love and commitment.

Absolutely not. I think that we can't qualify each others love at all and to attempt to do so dehumanizes the thing that makes us human at all. We are considered a higher primate because we feel intense emotional connection that is rare in other mammals and when we take a custom and say this is what makes love where defining something that is different for everyone.

Personally I don't ever want to marry. Mostly because I don't have a labeled religion. I know there is something that is in charge be it fate, a god, gods, etc. I don't need to define it and I don't need to define myself or my relationships because whatever it is it already knows my destiny and path in life.

Remember you are talking of LOVE. And love is a state of mind which does not changes with enhance or reduction of responsibilities ,or boundness,or emotions, or fear,or any other material happening. Love is complete surrendderness without any cosideration. You may also describe it as ---love has responsibilities only...... Before or after marriage has no concern and moreover when you are socially bound both-husbahd and wife are left with full love----reponsibilities and nothing else. For whom you have responsibility..........directly towards your beloved ones..loveable...love... and thus love and responsibility seems one and the same thing.

its all about committment for me and marraige is a higher level of commitment. in modern society it does seem to have an effect on some relationships, but i think that is the fault of the society. we have to learn that the real commitment is between the 2 individuals not between the individuals and society. people need to learn to create that kind of commitment in their hearts and not have to depend on a piece of paper to make it for them. the socially approved manner should respect the individuals. they should make their commitment to each other from their hearts and minds and then they can announce and/ or reveal that comittment to all in the socially approved manner as a matter of respect to family and friends. i dont want this to sound cold and calculated so i have to add that love should be what drives us to raise the stakes of commitment.

Yes. The married have showed that they truly love their partners which is why they chose to get married. Their relationship has deepened. The unmarried ones have not gone through this sacrament, and have no more obligation to be with the other when it is no longer beneficial to them. Married people have to get divorced, which means they don't really love each other if they choose to divorce their spouses.

hi small u really asked a big question. Why don't u want to give ur relationship social approval if u want to spend your whole life with someone. If anything that dosen't work out between both of them, then their are your relatives & friends(so called society)will help you to take the right decision. Its just like escaping from your responsibilty.Relationship means responsiblity. Its feel like you just want to enjoy your freedom & don't want to stick to any healthy relationship.Don't mind but truth is truth. If today we don't take the charge to take our customes & values to our next generation then i can feel the worst condition of our rich culture & heritage.think about it seriously

Unconditional love is the essence of your being. Like sunshine,it radiates out to all. we have unity with God in unconditional love within our heart. As this love passes out through the heart of an unenlightened being, or received by the unenlightened,it is divided into the duality of emotions, perceived as conditional love, hate, fear, anger, possiveness, attachment, and all the range of emotion. Unconditional love is always the same. As beauty so to Love is in the eye of the beholder.

to put the answer in a more general perspective, no; of course not. you dont have to be marrired to a person to show the love you have for one another. marrage as you said just makes the couple more socially responable for them and the future familys.

yes it is obviously different. Since husband and wife are legally bounded then they are responsibilities between them. Since a man and woman is just in there is only love between them.
