Breathe. Think of it this way: They need you, you dont need them. Basically your doing them the favor. So breathe and be proud.

Can you remember the last time you did something for the first time? .... new school, new college, new people.... etc, etc
Were you nervous? Of course you were, it's a natural thing... just that some people are better at disguising their nerves.
The majority of people are nervous in this situation... and your new work colleagues will also be nervous... about you... what will you be like, do you drink/smoke, are you a vegetarian/meat eater so on and so forth...
So. Just go out there, be yourself, look forward to the challenges and the new things in your life and be positive. And good luck in your new job!!!!!!

I know this sounds strange - but pretend to be calm and confident. Hold yourself like a calm and confident person would. I use this strategy when I find myself in these kinds of situations - and it is an effective way of convincing our bodies and minds to go along with whatever kind of stressful situation comes our way. Believe me - it works! And remember to smile. Just think you've got interesting new colleagues to meet - new friends (perhaps) to make - and a new job in which you can prove yourself to be what you want to be. What a fantastic opportunity.
Good luck.

Boots chemist sell a herbal mouth spray which many people swear by. It is supposed to make you calm and is 100% legal and drug free. I know many people including my Dad, who have used it and recommend it. It is called Rescue Remedy. Good Luck with the new job and try not to worry x

Take deep breath, hold your head high, make eye contact and smile at everyone. You'll get a positive reception that way, and more people will go out of their way to offer assistance. Good Luck!

Sorry, I guess we all go through the same thing. New environment, new people, making new work 'friends'. Just breath, smile, be friendly and already the atmosphere changes around you. people are friendly and if you know what you must do, just do your thing......

i have this tiny little bear, and whever i'm really really nervous about something i bring him incase i need comfort. it's special to me because my favourite aunty gave it to me, and it's like smaller than the palm of my hand so it's easy to put in my bag and yer. i find it helps having something sentimental from home with you.
