i want to be able to do u and optopsy and be able to tell the detective some information about how he or she died to find the killer but everytime i tell someone that they dont knwo what im talking about if i just tell them i want to be a forensic is there another name for this field or what is it called?

Need to be an MD or ME. Also.....it is autopsy. There are thousands of more difficult words to spell in medical school.

I believe it's called a Medical Examiner. The field you would be in is Forensics. Best of Luck!

What you're talking about is the work of a medical examiner, aka forensic science technicians. If you are interested in doing this work you'll need at least a bachelor's degree, and it can be pretty gruesome. http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos115.htm has more info.
