i hate to sound motherly here but i can't help it....
no matter how hard you try to stay up and finish your essay ( to even get a passing grade) or study enough to pass your tests-you'll be unsuccesful. i've worked night shift for 7 years now and if i don't get enough sleep during the day-i have an extremely hard time making it through my shift.
you might finish the essay-but the question is-will you pass? and if not-then will all the effort of trying to stay up to finish it seem worth it? and will your brain remember enough to pass the tests tomorrow?
best thing to do-is find out exactly how much time you'll need to finish the essay and study for the test (just study key points-things that will be worth the most points). if the essay is due during a later period in the day-then i would suggest sleeping for a little while then maybe missing your earlier classes.
hopefully next time you'll remember this painful experience and try to get your work done on time-trust me it's SO much worse in college and the teachers will not be as lenient on you-you are taking college classes b/c you want to-not b/c you really have to and it's your money that you are wasting if you don't pass-not theirs. in high school-the teachers have more of an obligation to help you pass-just something to think about.
good luck

Hey, you're just like me! Pulling all-nighters tonight. (Umm, what are we doing on Yahoo! Answes??!!? Perhaps this is why we've procrastinated until now, eh???)
The best thing to do: drink coffee, get up every now and then for breaks. Go to the bathroom and splash your face with cold water. Then get back to your essay and studying, then take a break on yahoo answers, and so on...
Good luck!

You must like live in california or something cause it is deffently not midnight where I am. Anyways just don't go to sleep its pretty easy you don't half to drink any coffee or anything just stay up. I did the whole procrastinating thing in highschool but its not easy, trust me it gets much worse in college. So I try not to do it. Good Luck & Happy Holidays!

I find that every time I get tired when I'm up late doing homework that splashing water on my face does the trick. Try putting water on your face, and if that doesn't work, eat something with carbohydrates; it will give your body energy and get your metabolism going, which usually keeps me up.

well, if you cant drink any coffee or soda, you might want to take a walk or something, or just eat something sugary, turn on some music, (headphones maybe to avoid waking everyone up)

Take a shower. It always wakes me up.
Also, it should be cold out. Go out lightly dressed and take a short walk in the cold air.
