I had an emergency c-section 3 years ago. I have always had some tenderness associated with this incision. I had the vertical cut, so it goes all the way down past my bikini line. This is where the pain is. I am around 6 weeks pregnant now, and I am having a constant pain in this spot. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, what did the doctors say it was?

It could be that your current pregnancy has aggravated the scar tissue from your previous c-section. Talk to your doctor at your next visit and get his/her advice.

Good luck!

My first baby was by c-section, but it goes from side to side. My next two, I absolutely refused to have a c-section, and I had them naturally. The doctor's have told me that you can have aches and pains down there due to the scarred tissue...which can grow and start wrapping around healthy tissue. Since you had the straight up and down incision, I've heard that from then on you will always have to have a c-section because it can rip open or something.
I would go in and tell them you are having pain in that spot, and they will do an ultrasound to see if everything is okay, and if the embro is possibly detaching from the uterus....I don't want to scare you or anything, but it's possible. If you start to bleed, or you're cramping get's worse...go the emergency room.

I think you should try warming up the area, soaking in the tub, and massaging it regularly to help stimulate healing.

i have occasional tenderness in my c-section scar (6 years old)
but mine is side to side below the pubic bone... it is probably fine i know most doctors dont do the vertical incision anymore beside it not looking to nice it can stretch with other pregnancys... usually with that type of cut they will have you have another c-section even if the baby is fine to come out natural.... talk to your dr!

I had a c-section 6 yrs. ago and the scar still has occasional pains. I really don't know why, sorry, but at least now you know you're not the only one.

Its actually associated with the muscle strains and extractions and since you are pregnant again it is best to do some exercises to ease the pain.

Or side to side?
