Why? The success of the crime is punishment enough.

As if an attempt to kill oneself isn't punishment enough, that's why the law would rather provide for the safety of the person against himself through various comforting and dissuading services like counseling..unless in the process of jumping off the roof he/she crashed and killed somebody then the law will have to reconsider humane treatment.

If categorized as an attempted murder, the least an offender may get is life, quite ironic in the true sense of the word, but he/she would definitely opt for death perhaps by hanging. So what's the point?

When do you punish someone smoking? Yes, When he is less than 18 years. It is because, he is not aware of the consequence. So, after 18, we do not punish him, because he has come to an age, where he knows the consequence of his actions. So, we can extend this logic to suicide. If someone is trying to commit suicide when he is less than 21, may be that can be punishable, as we can consider that he is not mature enough to take that decision. But after that age of 21, it may be legally allowed. It is because, his life is in his hand and he can very well decide what is good for him and what is not.

i do not learn about global mandates, and that i'm effective you meant to ask even if someone who has unsucessfully tried suicide and punishment so as that is the position i will concentration. i'm a disaster/hostage negotiator in a mid-length metropolitan section and as through the that position have had the fulfilling danger to spend a range of of time reading psychological behaviors etc both with the help of on-the-job coaching and through seminars/training that I absolutely have attended. each man or woman who's tried suicide (alongside with those who've been effective) change into/is in choose of a few style of counseling. I absolutely have had the exhilaration of having the flexibility to communicate some human beings out of taking their own existence and locate it relaxing both professionally and in my view. with a view to respond to your question, no there must be no punishment yet quite mandated psychological counseling and/or mediation of a few form. We pick committment to a remedy facility the technique for that is started with the aid of the officer on scene. we've got here upon this to be an powerful device in both holding and serving the regular public

Well if many people are religious towards this Q, then no it is not punishable, b/c it is a sin to commit suicide. So it wouldnt be made punishable offence, b/c many people would be in an uproar.

I think what you meant was if they tried taking there life and did not succeed? if so then i dont think it should be a punishable offense since i mean its your life whos to tell you why or when or how you are to die i mean if you really want to die then let the higher power judge you not any one man or woman.

a person who is ready to kill themselves would not think even once of a law that makes it illegal. how would you go after a dead person? unless you presume to go after the family members who may have nothing to do with the individual who decided to commit suicide.
