Whose mind are you playing with? Someone else's or your own? Or... did I just blow your mind?

I don't believe in it in serious situations, but I like playing little pranks. I got on the PA at work the other day and told one of my co-workers there was an empty spot where his car had been. The look on his face was pretty funny. Later, he went home for lunch and another of my co-workers came running up to me exclaiming 'now his car really *is* gone!' For some reason, no-one else finds it as funny as I do.

This is harmless...but fun and if you can keep a straight face...
go for it. When you are faced with a "difficult person" such as a rude service representative at a place of business - simply look them in the eyes and say "You don't know who I am, do you?" or
" Do you know who I am?" "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?".
Watch for the reaction. My experiece is even though they have NO REASON to "know who I am, since the implication is THEY SHOULD know me...and they start thinking oh-oh.. the tide usually turns in my favor.
