Is Western people smarter than African people?

no. western people might just have more oppurtunities and advantages than African people, but smarter? No! Never!
I am prove of that. I am an African and I am equal to Western people. I also know what they do and can do what they do, givne the opportunity and advantages. Though we do not allow the latter hamper us in our endeavours to living meaningful lives, contributing to the well-being of society.
We are as worthy, intelligent and meaningful as any westerner.

I am assuming you mean people in the West vs people in Africa instead of meaning white vs black. If that is the case, then your question is not entirely accurate, there are very intelligent Africans, however in a country where the majority live in underdeveloped areas the percentage of those reaching higher educational levels is low. In the West, survival in rural areas is not the same, plus the competition for education and its availability allow more access by individuals.

Now, if you mean by color within the west, you would be wrong also, if given the opportunity and socio-economic access to education and the societal drive to further their education then more would reach that level.

So your question can be wrong in both situations and right, only because you taking into account the deprivation of a sector within society.

Educated differently; developed differently, but no one is smarter than the other. Knowledge will be different on both counts.

Also, the question, fyi, should be, "ARE Western people smarter than African people?"... Not "IS".

I think Both You and Lucaz are insane. How about that for an answer. People study different and they have different systems they learn by. Individually I must say that there are less intelligent people in EVERY race. And there are more intelligent people in EVERY RACE. There is no one supreme race/nationality.

i have met many africans who at least speak 3 different languages, so they do not lack at all in intelligence, but they do have more disadvantages, education wise.
