Even though it's only 7.00am in the morning, today I've already learnt that dead doctors will happily get out of your way if you are a monster whose make up doesn't allow you to see very well.
I learnt this from "THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE" (1962).

He actually wasn't sure if he should until the day he signed the paper, he said:
"I never, in my life, felt more certain that i was doing right, than i do in signing this paper."
And thus the slaves were freed.
