Love and hope are real, but "destiny" - what the heck is that?
If you mean that there is some golden boy on a white charger somewhere just waiting to sweep you off your feet and carry you away to his shining castle in the upper west side, then, yeah, that's a fairy tale.
Destiny is not predetermined. There is no "one". It's all about timing and the social groups within which you circulate.
Will you grow to be an Old Maid? No one knows that. But, if you think on it hard enough, it may come to pass as a self-fullfilling prophesy.
Loose yourself in the service of others and good things will happen to you.

when u are young those three things seem very obtainable, but as u grow older u realize that love is just a myth and does not live up to the hype. then when u realize that love is worthless and does not exist but only in the movies and in romance books, CZ no matter how hard u try it is no were to be found and the your hope goes away CZ u realize that it is easier not to hope and dream because if u do not hope and dream u do not have to deal with the disappoint that failed hopes and dreams begin. but there is one certainty, that is destiny and that is u will die and leave the rest behind. so to be so mean but in 46 years of living that is my experience

After a decade of being physically and mentally abused I gave up in believing the "forever after" fairy tale. The one day when I stopped looking God sent me the man of my dreams. We're going on 5 years together and still in love and going strong. Just keep the faith and let God do the rest.

Love is out there! Some people just look too hard. I have two initials carved in my forearm. I believed (when I was 15) that the man I would marry would have those initials. But I looked too hard and lost really good friends, thinking they were the "one". I grew out of it and just didn't think about it anymore. Then out of the blue, I met a guy with those initials. He's my husband now, and I've never been happier!

I think if you are over 30 and are female, you are considered an old made. Even cross culturally, my Anthropology professor said that Japanese even have the term Makeinu which literally means loser dog. This is referred to an OL or an office lady who is over 30 and couldnt be picked.

No, I don't believe it is. I can say that destiny is what brought my husband and I together just don't look so hard. It will find you when you least expect it.
