I think you have a perfectly valid point. The problem with some people on here is they are just big kids. They write down a whole bunch of words, because they know they're never going to have to face the asker/answerer and they think it's funny. It's kind of like the kid that rings a next neighbours doorbell and runs away giggling. They're trying to get your attention, but in a pointless and faceless way. The best thing to do, is just ignore them. If someone asks an offensive question, just ignore it don't even report let Yahoo sort that out. If someone gives a nasty answer you can report it if you want, but I would just ignore it. My experience of being on here is for every nasty person there is at least 4 other 'reasonable' people. By 'reasonable' I don't always mean someone who agrees with you, but someone who has the sense just to answer a question in the spirit of which it was asked!

People who give nasty answers are just bitter in some way or another, ignore them, who cares what they say! When they make nasty replies, do people think they are clever, cool, somewhat better? I dont think so.
They should realise that it is better to be nice than nasty, its a whole different world with a smile on your face and a friendly personality.

I just got one of those nasty, off the wall answers! It serves no purpose. Maybe the person has brain damage and we should feel sorry for them. Don't be intimidated by it. It makes them look like the biggest idiot of all. I am grateful for the fun, intelligent, personable people that participate. Happy Holly Days to everyone but the creeps.

The rudeness is disappointing, annoying, and tiring. It is an interesting phenomenon, though, isn't it.
Thinking in terms of Jung and the idea of the dark side in psychology, I have to assume this is all a projection of something, isn't it. Is it some kind of collective psychic pain? What is the root of this pain? Is it the pain of spiritual disconnection? Is it the pain of a pervasive lack of respect?
I find it very disturbing, and I probably won't stay in this forum much longer.
Your question is good hearted, and I wish you many blessings.

Earlier even if people wanted to be nasty , they could not.Because they were members of small comunities, where everybody knew everyubody else.Internet permits you to hide your identity and say things you cannot say in the real world.
But , tell me , why should you feel bad about remarks by people you do not know? Why can you not treat them as being unworthy of notice?

The nasty people are taking out their aggressions here anonymously. Maybe it means that they wouldn't punch their wife out or run somebody off the road instead.

Because some people can't keep their big mouths shut! They think it's ok to defame, or abuse and don't give a damn for people's feelings.
It's the world we live in - full of anger, hypocrisy, greed, ignorance and intolerance.
Sad, but true.

Unfortunately it is human nature which will never change. Ignorance is bliss in some cases because they can't face up to reality or their own failures so try to push it onto others.

Because we are going to hell in a handbasket. Keep teaching kids to be raised by TV and computers, not the Bible. This is what u get. 100 years ago they were raised by the bible...everyone had respect, called everyone sir and madam.
Coincidence? no
