If you are trying to conceive the first thing you want to do is monitor your ovulation. Get an ovulation kit to make sure you are ovulating. A woman over the age of 35 is considered advanced maternal age and is at higher risk of more birth defects. So make sure you have taken that into consideration. Ovulation does get harder and pregnancy does get harder.

After you have done the ovulation for at least 3 months and nothing is happening see your Ob-Gyn. If you are on any medication, weight eigher under or overweight, diabetes and thyroid diseases can have an affect on getting pregnant. A lack of hormones can affect this too.

Try the ovulation kit and then see your Ob-Gyn. You may need hormone pills. Progesterone will help you get your cycles normal and ovulating. But you may just need to know when you are ovulating if your cycles are regular and the kit shows you are ovulating.

Your partner or spouse may need to be checked. It is not always the fault of the woman. So after you get checked make sure he is as well. Even if there are other children.

Hope this helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
