I'm assuming you mean in the US. they're common enough, but depending on the part of the country you might be attract looks. Also there is definitely a double standard in acceptance to these relationships. In public most will be accepting and friendly, but privately i have heard some fairly interesting things and viewpoints not even based in reality being shared.

I haven't seen too many mixed marriages in Australia, but they do happen. Personally, I believe that as human beings we're not that different at the core, and if the couple can tollerate cultural differences within their relationship, interracial marriage can be great. If two people love each other, race shouldn't be a deciding factor in whether they marry or not. Plus, it's people like these that help bridge the gap between the races. And if you don't mind me making a superficial comment, have you noticed how gorgeous the progeny of mixed race couples often are?

interracial marriages are not a "trend". i feel that it is a very wonderful thing that people are more open minded to realize that the outside is only appearance and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. differences enhance the persons uniqueness and enhances the quality of the relationship making each person involved a much more rounded individual with an even broader outlook on life by bringing two different cultures together. I think someone said it before that in the future that there will be more of a single skin tone rather than so many different ones. Wont the world be a more beautiful place?! :o)

Most people that I know who got marriage with different race have already been divorced after just a few years. Even if you think you know the person well, after you live with each other, there is still so many adjustment you have to encounter, like the true character and personality of a person, financial, tradition, food and attitude. I must say you must know the person very well , different or same races before marriage.

Well a person is a person and when 2 People fall in love and get married then its a joyous event...But keep in mind when these people come from 2 different races, culture or religion it makes up who they are and when they get married it needs to be realized that they are marrying that part of their spouses...I know I have been in a simular situation.....It didn't work out for us but it had nothing to do with race...

There are many inter-racial marriages and couples where I live in the US. I am always pleased when I see this because it tells me that prejudices can be overcome and people of different backgrounds can learn to love one another. While my wife and I are the same race, we prefer to live in diverse neighborhoods for a richer cultural experience.
I know that inter-racial marriage is relatively rare in many other parts of the US, however. I can't imagine why anyone would frown upon inter-racial marriage unless it is based upon their ignorance.

Not sure of their popularity, but if you find the right one for you, then race doesn't matter. Personally, I'm white and married a half Korean/half Russian woman. She's the most beautiful woman in the world and we're great for each other.
Hope this helps.

there are more marriages between two people of different races every day, which leads to the idea that thousands of years from now there will be only one skin color. Personally, I think it's awesome that people are not so hung up over the past that they can settle down with someone who may have "opressed" them in the past.

Statistically, about one percent (interesting statistic in such a "tolerant" country) of marriages in the United States are of "mixed race." But it honestly doesn't matter, as long as you love whomever you are marrying.

Where I live, it's the norm. I feel that it is fine.
Advice... Don't listen to what other people think. Would you give up your soul mate because someone didn't like you being from another race?
