and what kind of offense did most colleges use in the 60's and 70's as well.

Notre Dame used the traditional pro set T formation offense. QB, 2 RB, 2 WR. Huarte to Snow, Hanratty to Seymour, Theisman to Gatewood, Clements to Dave Casper, Joe Montana to Ken McAfee etc. Many colleges used an option offense in the 60's and 70's however. Schools like Oklahoma and Texas used the wishbone offense--very little passing and 3 RBs. It just depended on the school
