If you just reloaded XP and are essentially starting from scratch then you probably have nothing to worry about and you just need to reconfigure your computer to connect to that specific wireless network. Make sure that you have loaded the drivers correctly for your system and that you actually have the wireless card working correctly. If you follow the steps that I outline below and you don't see a Wireless Network card, you don't have the drivers loaded correctly and you should grab the CD for the card and go from there.

Right-click on "My Network Places" from your desktop and selection "Properties". Then choose the interface (wireless network card) and Right-Click and then select "Properties" from that. You should see a "Wireless" tab of some sorts from that window that comes up. Check to see if the wireless network (your wireless router/hug) is viewable, if not then you don't have your wireless network card installed yet or it isn't installed correctly. Select the wireless network and then enter in the encryption info (please tell me that you are using either WEP or WPA to secure your connection, but you can skip this step if you haven't secured your connection).

If you can't see that then you may have not enabled your wireless network to be viewable. Some people do that so that they don't broadcast to the neighborhood that they have an Internet connection that can be hacked. I suspect that that isn't the case for you, but if you cannot see it then you should connect directly to your wireless router/hub and enable the SSID broadcast. Once it is enabled then you can start over with these directions and you should be able to see it and then connect to it.

Make sure that under Device Manager the wireless adapter is installed. Right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware. If not, find software and install.
