so i have a pokemon green leaf version. i'm at the celadon city team rocket hideout which is located at the game corner (basement of it) and i got teh lift key to fight the boss giovanni but according to walkthroughs, it says u have to go up an elevator after u get the lift key, but i just got the lift but there is no elevator and i'm very frustrated right now.

1- go back in the team rocket game hideout and take the steps
going down go the middle of the floor then make a right until u
see 2 air vents then go down and around the table throug the walkway and make a right and there's the elevator now the boss
should be on b4 . most important thing when doing the silph co bilding-> don't get the card key first trust me i did that first and didn't have any bad guys 2 fight and i didn't get lapras as a present for saving the people u must fight all the bad guys from bottom to top or top to bottom which ever way u decide it's all good. glad 2 help a pokemon gamer in need :)

That's the game. I had that problem with my fire red after I used a bunch of Gameshark codes. The save file is actually fine, but there is a glitch in the hardware of the game. All the cartridges have it, except the V1.2 cartridges, and there is no way to tell them apart. You'd have to get really lucky to get it. The thing with the cartridge is that all the V1.1 cartridges have the glitch, but it is unknown what actually causes it, because I used no cheats on other play throughs and the glitch still appeared, but at a different place.

It sounds like the save battery on the game cartridge is starting to go out. This can happen with older games that have had high use. You might want to look into replacing it.
