Sit it where it is most comfortable. Mine sits pointing up in my nostril, and my problem is finding jewellery I like which doesn't hurt to put in or take out. I am thinking of melting down my wedding ring and getting some jewellery made.

It should sit anyway you find comfortable without being able to be seen by people
