I suppose he will know what his kids like and you will know what your kids like so the shopping might work out that way, but I feel both of your names should go on the package to all the kids. It shows you two are united and the step is accepting of the spouses children.

Buy them together - that's how you get to know them better is when the two of you shop together. Then when birthday time rolls around you have an idea about his kids and he yours.

discuss with hubby. You both could buy gifts for all your 'kids' together (1 present each from the both of you).

Why the "hers/his" routine? Are you married or not? Buy gifts for all the kids and leave the "his/hers" thing at the door.

First, dont seperate gift giving. The two of you should pick out presents together for all the kids. Its not "Yours, mine, its Ours."

you should buy presents for both. you want the family to come together not be segregated...if you just buy for yours, his will feel left out. you want them to know you are trying and want them to respect you and feel like you are a part of the family. this will make them feel that you thought of them enough to buy them presents too.
