I noticed that Ghost in the Shell has Russian theme song and I just started watching Wolf's Rain and all the signs, and train station announcements are in Russian. Any idea why Japanese anime would have Russian influence like that? Thank you.

I may have been wrong in generalizing this. I found out that the singer they used for Ghost in the Shell likes to incorporate different languages in her songs. Still, does anyone know why EVERYTHING's in Russian in Wolf's Rain? Or maybe you know other anime that uses Russian? Please let me know, I'm really curious. Thank you.

As far as I know, Wolf's Rain is based on a russian legend. I'm russian and I've never heard of it, but anyway.. :P Maybe the story is in Russia. And I think it follows Full Metal Alchemist's model: All that's said is in Japanese, but all the written things are in english. Also, in Full Metal Alchemist, on the final episodes, you can hear a beautiful, sad song in Russian (Bratja / Brothers).
