I sometimes wonder if a lot of people, straight women and gay men, write Asian men off before they even get to know them. As a gay Asian man, I feel as though very few men have ever expressed interest in me and if they have, they've generally been the 65 year old, starved for sex kind. Many of my friends and even people I don't know have told me that I'm attractive (although they were probably lying) and I've never thought of myself as ugly. But I feel like so many people automatically see Asian men as being ugly and, thus, not datable. I hate to sound so depressed, but sometimes it really bums me out. I wish some guys, regardless of appearance, would just give me a chance. I sometimes think I'll be one of those lonely old bitter men who never found anyone decent in life. Should I just resign myself to being lonely? I know White guys are often way hotter than Asian guys, but is anyone decent out there who can see past that?

WO! Enough with the depression. Since when did whitey become some super stud? As a whitey I would say that was a black mans department. If we are only talking about body parts.
Lots of Narcissism in the gay life. That may make for hot NSA sex when you are looking for someone with which to spend tonight. If you are looking for may be the next 50 years or so, you need to look a lot deeper, regardless of what is under the hood. Depression will eat you up and make you a bad partner for anyone. You need to address that issue. You can't hide depression and few folks are looking to be your nursemaid.
Once you have a better outlook try craigslist.org. If you find no ads that work for you write your own. There are plenty of consenting adults just waiting to get their needs filled, could some of those needs be yours?

I think what you said here is not true.
For those who write off Asian gay guys before they know them surely have personal and emotional problems with theirselves. Not you.
They cannot deal with something that are different from theirselves. They cannot accept the fact that in this planet called earth, there are so many races of gays that not only Caucasian, but also Asian.
I know many Caucasian gays how are so narrowminded and stuck up with their Caucasian things. They close themselves to other ethnic group out there and choose to get attached only with other caucasians. Indeed this is their problem not yours.
You didn't ask God to be caucasian or black or whatsoever you prefer to be, did you? You didn't ask God to be asian either, did you? So, you were born as asian, just because that's the way you are.
Those guys that write off asians or any other races before they know them, really have to deal with the fact that they are NOT living in the white world or caucasians world only. But they are living in THE world.
Not all white guys hotter than asians or black. I know many many white gay guys are ugly, fat, or skinny and scary thin before. And I also know many many gorgeous, cute, very hot and good looking asian gay guys as well. So, it's not true what you said that White guys are often way hotter than Asian guys, not true- I defy this.
Why in the world would you have to give up to be unlovable? Who made that rule and policy? Who said that?
I believe that there are so many white guys out there who really like and even love you as an asian- you just simply haven't found them yet.... you just always found the people who belittle and disgrace asian guys. Keep on trying and never give up on this.
Be strong, have faith because you ARE special person and have down to earth self confidence within yourself that you are NOT the one who has to deal with this issue, but those who judge you and scrutinize you base only on your race, have to deal with it.
This is the world, obviously contains of so many races and ethic groups from everywhere. For those who cannot accept imperfections and differences may live in their own pigeonhole and typecast themselves, but it shouldn't stop you to move forward finding what you want for your life and to be the better person who you are today.

Well there could be several reasons for this..
One could be the area you live in.
Two is the "popular stereotype" rule. In which there's pretty much a stereotype starting for everyone except involving things the original 'starter' is.
People are in general shallow. Many people would take a person for their body, or exclude them for the same reason.
