At 55 I don't feel that way. 22 is still a young man. Life just continues, if you don't feel old, get over it. You have MANY more years ahead of you. Do things you want and need to do to keep yourself young and happy. If you do feel old just rethink it, you'll find much more in your life you can do.
At my age I still feel only 35.

It hasn't.
I think a lot of people go through long periods--even years--when this can seem like the case. Then, all of a sudden, a great new friend or opportunity will come along. I think you grow in spirit the same way you grow physically--in growth spurts. And usually after a long period of painful situations and growth, some sort of positive breakthrough will occur.
Sometimes changing the worst area of your life can help you in all other areas--for example, a new job might bring great new friends, more money, greater happiness, and a chance to move to a new city.

You never how much time you have. 22 is young enough to do most things in life but the older you get the faster time goes. Figure out what you want to do in life and go for it.

22 is still VERY young. You still have a lot of maturing and growing up at this age. However, always live life as if each day is your last.

Oh, yes!!
You can't change the pass, so just look forward.
And tomorrow doesn't have to be like yesterday.
What do you want to be different in your life? do you want to go to school? do you want a better job? do you want more people in your life who mean something to you? Write it down. Think about how you can get there. Start with small things. The world is yours, take it. Really!!

Get real. People don't even know what's what until after 25. I didn't even find my life partner until I was 45! You need to get drunk--responsibly, of course, and always with a designated driver...

being gay? or in general?
Fact is, you don't find many other gay guys till college. I spent my high school years (as an out gay male) getting harrassed and teased and never finding a boy who cared about me because, in all honesty, the boys who were gay in my high school were too p**** to come out and say they were gay too. You're in your prime, keed. Go to some gay bars and have fun.
