There are extremists in every religion. People use it to justify stupid things MANY times throughout history. One of my best friends ever is a Muslim (albeit not a very outspoken one) and I honestly chalk it up to stupidity on certain people's parts, not on the religion as a whole. And you know what? Rawr. AFAIK (and I could be wrong,) Islam teaches a "scale" of good and evil deeds and if the good outweighs the bad, you're pretty much good. Obviously following the religion is considered a good thing, but I'm almost positive that good people of other religions can end up in Heaven according to Muslim beliefs.

I don't think all followers of Islam think other Religions are evil etc. I have known many good Muslims in my life. For that matter if all Religions think other Religions are as good as themselves then there will not be proselytation activities carried by the clergies. For a Spiritual person God is same what ever may be the denomination. I am not a Muslim, I am a born Hindu. I have seen some preachers on Road corners denigrating my Religion and Religious beliefs. There are good and bad people in every religion. Human nature is all the same. Insecurity makes a person or persons to behave differently. That may be same with Religious followers also.

You better look first at the other side of the fence before judging people. Most Christians think all non-Christians are evil and that they are 100% perfect which is total nonsense.
You need proof:
1) Roman Catholic Christian priests sodomize young boys.
2) Ted Haggard is gay.
3) The Ku Klux Klan are white Protestant Christians who enjoy killing and raping non-whites and non-Christians.
4) Orthodox Protestant Serbians raped and massacred Bosnian Muslims just because they were Muslims.
5) Former US President Clinton was more interested in ramming his "SCUD" down Monica Lewinsky's throat rather than taking covert, pre-emptive anti-terrorist action which could have prevented 9/11.
So, kindly view both sides of an issue before you make an accusation of who is right or wrong.
Peace to you despite your bias.

I am Muslim. Wait I take that back, I was raised Muslim but after further research, I gave up religion altogether. It's all stupid and with EVERY religion you will find flaws.
Also you're generalizing- not all muslims are like that. It's like me saying "why do Christians think every other religion is evil and only christiany is the right way to go?
NEWSFLASH!!!! Every religion thinks theirs is the right one!!!!
And yes suicide bombing is evil but these people are maniacs who claim Islam. I mean lets look at Christian murderers- can I say "hey you're Chrisitan and you killed people- christianity is bad.
"regardless of religious affiliation, its a universal law that taking other peoples lives is evil and wrong." Another newsflash: EVERY RELIGION HAS FOLLOWERS THAT COMMIT MURDER AND SUICIDE! what's your point?
This is what I think: Religion is the root of all evil. Believe in God- you'll find him in your heart and not in manmade books or myths. God gave you intuition to "know" what is right and what is wrong. Did you know in my child psych class we are learning how children who, never haviing seen right and wrong acts, can STILL know what is right and wrong? It's given to us by God at birth. That's all we need.
You're just looking at this wrong. Islam has bad people but so does every religion. That's not what matters. What matters is doing the right thing and believing in God and that is only found by following your HEART. and nothing else...

Use your intelligence, i do no longer doubt which you're an sensible person. Do you think of a faith with a million.5 billion followers is evil? No faith with that many followers is evil, inspite of the undeniable fact that lots of the adherents could be faulty. the religion, in case you look into it, is relatively non violent and extremely similar to Christianity. they suspect in the ten commandments, and maximum are very innovative. no one team of human beings of any faith are evil

believe it or not, it actually has little to do with islam. every religion brainwashes its followers and teaches them that only their religion is the correct one. where i live, there are several "megachurches" run by evangelical ministers. thousands and thousands of people come to these churches every week and it's not impossible to think that if the pastors told these people, "go blow yourself up for our cause and you will be guaranteed a place in heaven" that these people would do it. religion is all about brainwashing people for power, the evangelical christians hold just as much power over their followers as the muslim radicals do over theirs.

I am not Muslim, so I can only surmise that in this fundamentalist sort of Islam, believers take their faith in their God to such an extreme, that it is a death offense not to believe the exact same way.
