My sister loves bagged tea and lived on the stuff through all three of her pregnancies. Her kids are very healthy, well-rounded and they wasn't hyper or picky when they were babies. I think if you have enjoyed bagged tea before your pregancy then you should continue to enjoy it. Some of the stuff they put in those pregancy books I think is to scare women into thinking it will harm the baby. Like I said my sister's kids are plenty healthy- no hyper disorders or attention disorders or anything and they are smart little ones too ;)

Doctors advise to limit the caffeine use during pregnancy, so having a cup of tea or two will not harm you. If you are drinking a pot of coffee a day or many cups of tea per day then I would say slow it down.

Alot of caffeine is not good for you while you are pregnant including tea, coffee, coke, chocolate etc... but a little doesnt hurt, just dont overdue it and you will be fine. I drank tea through both my pregnancies just not as much as normally. if you are concerned talk to your doctor about it and how much is safe.

Some tea's have caffeine in it. If you drink too much caffeine you could hurt the baby. I wouldn't drink more than 3 cups a day, but if your worried ask your doctor how much is ok.

One or two teas during pregnancy can't harm the baby. However i think that fresh made tea with boiled water would be beter than something that has been sitting around for weeks.

Tea doesn't have caffiene, but tannic acid which is a stimulant. Most would say "no" but I think coffee and soda are worse. Just limit it or switch to a herbal tea, better yet ask your Dr.

It's the caffeine the book is talking about. I drank tea with all of mine and they turned out just fine

bagged HERBAL teas that don't have any caffeine are probably OK. It's the stimulant in regular tea that you don't want, same as coffee.

the books say that because the caffeine crosses the placenta and goes to the baby. green tea and black tea both have caffeine, so if you drink it, try to limit the amount, but chamomile and peppermint are good alternatives (and without caffeine)

It is all because of the caffine! You can have the equivalent to one 12 oz coke a day! Liptons decaf tea tastes the exact same! And you can use the bagged kind too!!! Good luck to you!
