I am going through exactly the same thing. Funny how thinking about some of the happy times can make one sad. I guess it's better than having bad memories and nightmares, but I somehow get the feeling the fun I had with friends and family in my younger days seem to be better than I have done lately. It was a different world then, we could do stuff we can't do today. Making the best of it now is the only recourse.

There is a difference between us. The thing to remember is they are the past. They are things that cannot be changed. Focus on things you can do in the here and now to make you future memories happier ones.
I love to reminisce...about the good times, and bad.

The past is gone but the memories of my parents and other people once dear to me are all I have left. I enjoy recalling the happy times of my youth. I feel grateful and maybe a bit sad but not depressed. Thank you for asking.

Sometimes I reminisce, but not too often. I have a friend from high school who only reminisces She will say at the bookstore, "Remember? you read this book!"
I have no memory. It's obnoxious!

Just a few, and rarely. I don't remember much of anything before 1980.
I like the present, and am building for the future.
I do run into friends that I haven't seen in years, and it is a pleasant surprise, and we still are able to share memories and catch up on where we are now.

Boy do I agree with you. There are times that enjoy reminiscing but most of the time I get depressed.

some events in my past i enjoy romanticizing, but others i feel are best left alone. i draw on past memories for the betterment of my future ones, and avoid anything that will cause me pain or angst.
