When do you think the best time is to have your babyshower.. And when should you start doing your baby registry?

Do it anytime... but the sooner the better... I had mine when I was 6 months along, another at 8 months, and the last after my son's birth- that's how that side of the family wanted it... I had so many because one was friends where I live, another was with my mom's side of the fam, and the other with my dad's side.... my parents are divorced, so having the entire fam together is a bad idea.

I say though, the sooner the better- I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make it to my last one, that I could go into labor lol... you never know what will happen.

I registered with my husband really early, that way we could get everything on there we wanted. It was fun- my husband loved zapping everything. But as long as you have the registry done before your invites go out, that should be fine. Some people like to shop early, others wait until the very last minute.

I'm a plan ahead kind of person, you really should get that baby registry done by the time you're 6 months along and that depends on where you want to get registered. You can always remove items later. As far as when to have a baby shower - you really need to leave the general time up to the people who want to throw it for you and then decide on a date together. I had mine at about 7 -8 months - most people I know have had them then. It's late enough that everyone will get to see you obviously pregnant and early enough so you won't die trying to organize all of that stuff!

You should start your baby registry as soon as you feel up to doing it. You can always put stuff on there that doesn't have to do with the sex of the baby. Then, after you find out the sex you can start adding boy or girl stuff to it. You should have your baby shower about a month before you are due unless you are having complications and have to be put on bed rest.

I don't think there is a set time to register or when to have the shower. Some of my girlfriends registered as early as four months and had there showers several months before the due date. I registered two months before I had my son, but wish I would of registered much earlier because many people wanted to purchase gifts and they did not know what to get.

A friend of mine was so anxious she had it at the very beginning of her 6th month. It was kinda weird, since she wasn't showing much and it seemed too soon.

I'd say at the beginning of the 8th month.

On the other hand, don't wait too long. The last shower I went to, the baby came early and was there himself!

YOU don't put on your own baby shower, a friend or relative has one for you, and they will decide on when to have it. If you want to register go ahead...but not everyone will want to be told what to get since it's the thought of the person giving the gift that is important and not the gift itself.

right when i found out i was pregnant i went to babies r us and did a registry(i could'nt wait).therefore if anyone asked me what i needed before i had my baby shower, i'd tell them to look me up on babiesrus.com. i had my baby shower at 8 months that way it gave me a month to get whatever little things i did'nt get at my baby shower. babiesrus is really cool. they give you free inserts to put in your invitations. i actually had a baby shower committee that did all that stuff for me. but it really helps. that way its all organized.....have fun......
