all the best for ur contest...dont tell stories already known and told many times....they wont generate interest......come out with something original.......use expressions,eye movements and gestures to the best....also use voice modulation to match your expressions......i am sure you will come out with flying colors.

Cute doesn't read throughly it seems. She asked advice, not support. Now it doesn't matter if your African American, Asian, Caucasian. Go with a passive aggressive book. Try summary's of a long book. I suggest the original summary of Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes.

be creative, dont tell red riding hood, everyone knows it. and memorize it instead of reading it from your paper, and its all about your voice and vocal differention. and make it real, dont be fake, make it sound realistic, and make a hook at the beginning to get everyones attention. you could even ask questions in the story to make everyone think.

get a copy of the complete tales of the brothers grimm - the one with over 200 stories, go through that, and pick out a few

Yeah,you should tell any kind of story that the listeners may not know.If so,they will show more interest in yours than the stories they know.If yours is also interesting,you will surely get a prize.
