if so well then to some extent yes. If you are an @ss to everyone, don't expect everyone to be nice to you, but rather with the same attitude you act towards them.

In an instance where it wouldn't work would be like if you totally screw somebody over and no one knew about it and you got away with it, its doubtful it would happen to you or suffer any consequences

I think there is connection between sending good vibes good things come your way and being pessimistic sends pessimism your way. That being said, I also think one lays the ground work for good things happening in their life by making good choices. If you're one that always looks for a quick buck at some else's expense then eventually it catches up with you. Honesty and integrity is the best policy.

For example: A well known effect in medicine is the so called "placebo effect"[1] -- what happens is that people who receive medication that they believe will cure them -- get better even if the medication a simple "sugar pill".
The effect is so WIDELY recognized that every medical trial must include a subgroup that receives a placebo(sugar pill) instead of the real medication[2]

Thinking positively, of course, goes with happiness, and thinking negatively, of course, goes with misery. But human beings don't have magical powers, sorry.

I highly doubt it... I think when that happens its just chance. Anyways usually when I think something good will happen something terribly horrible will happen, but thats just me.
