Well thank you, it's nice to hear a non-American say nice things about us for a change.

Why are you so judgemental? I'm not! Take as you find....I get along with all nationalities and I definitely don't stereotype! That has got nothing to do with what I think of people. I'm a diverse person...and if I don't like someone its because I don't like them...and not who or what they are! But hey-ho...I ain't going to lose any sleep over it! I'm an European..and I don't think I'm high and mighty....and if you don't know me..then don't judge! I've travelled to London...to New York....and they're both go very polite people living there...but also there are rude people in both places..and you'll find this anywhere you go! SO....why don't you practice what you preach....AND REALLY THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR JUDGEMENTS ON OTHER PEOPLE!

I dont really belive your reference about most polite city being New York....Toronto Canada would probably have to place better than that. Damn...people still say good morning, and return stuff to you if you drop it in the street.
Having said that, I have to agree that North America gets a bad rep to the rest of the world. Just a few days ago...Canada has made the largest donation to AIDS studies than any other country. Their government also matched every dollar given by citizens to Tsunami relief a few years ago, ontop of the supplies they sent.
And the US does similar things. Its really not that bad over here overall, it's kinda like having that family member who gives you money when they know they won't get it back.

you may't purely pinpoint this to us British human beings, this can be a human situation. that is stereotyping on the media's section and creates a faux experience that each body human beings of a rustic are like this. I mean the stereotype persons is that we've undesirable the teeth, all communicate with both a BBC or cockney accessory and curiously, as some american human beings were stunned to locate at the same time as i change into requested, all of us understand the Queen. It would not make it genuine yet those type of factors are popularised with the aid of the media so one theory of absolutely everyone of a rustic are seen in one of those fashion.

I just got back from living in Boston for the last 6 months and I think Americans are pretty darn nice!
I find they are easy to talk to and speak their mind which is something us Europeans are very bad at.
There is so many different types of people in America. This is why one shouldn't stereotype them.
OK they did elect a talking monkey as their president (twice!) but not everyone of them voted. or even voted for him.
America is still a pretty young country and they need to mature as a country as do all countries.
So there..

I guess I never really realized that people were so prejudice against us. Maybe if they actually came here and saw. Of course, I'm sure no all Europeans hate North America, but it does irk me how people make judgements so quickly. How would they even know if they have never experienced how our culture is?

I can understand what you mean but a lot of americans do come across as being very brash and superior. The politeness that one gets in american shops etc comes across as a rote learning and insincere. i agree about london being a horrible city but then to be honest most cities are.

This really is an international conspiracy begun by the Soviet Union which has not matured until after that entity has collapsed. It is easy to hate Americans and American businesses that have gone international like McDonald's & Starbucks. Many American tourists are crass, but certainly not all.

Because they envy us for a myth that everything here is handed to us, it's the land of milk and honey, streets paved with gold etc. etc. And if by accident of birth you are born an American, you are responsible for some kid dying in Africa, not the fact everyone their breeds like rats. If there is a mud slide in Sri Lanka, the USA is expected to send relief aid. Nonsense like that. We have kids dying here for lack of proper medicine, housing, etc. and our own mud slides to contend with, and the more the outside world condemns us for trying to promote freedoms, human rights, and not wanting to see nations that threaten to nuke others from getting nuclear weapons, the more we feel like stopping all foreign aid and just taking care of our own. We won't of course, but when you get your tax bill it sure is what you feel like saying to the rest of the world. You are right, everyone thinks NYC is America, but America is mostly open country, forests, fields, lakes, rivers, farmlands as far as the eye can see, that helps feed a good portion of the world, with lots of people who drive old cars, work hard every day with or without pay, and try to obey the laws and be good citizens that vote and pay taxes, and complain about their politicians in office regardless of who they are or what party they belong to. Without someone else telling them what to think or how to act, I believe all people are pretty much the same and under similar conditions act the same. There is always a certain percentage who are stinkers, it just makes you appreciate the good people that much more. If Americans are arrogant, it's just because they get tired of all the USA bashing from countries that turn around and demand a handout of some kind like we owe them.

the reason americans are judged so much is beccause they are always judging other people a lot of them think they're society is the only right society and if some other societies disagree with them then those societies are considered evil, take iran they bombed them because they disagreed with they're political way of life
